Nilesh Patel

Nilesh Patel is a Managing Director of Prima Capital Advisors LLC.  Prima is a registered investment advisory firm that specializes in commercial mortgage investments.  Today, the company’s assets under management are approximately $2.1 billion.  At Prima, Mr. Patel's responsibilities include loan origination, CMBS and REIT bond analysis as well as structuring/execution of Prima’s securitizations.

Nilesh joined Prima Capital Advisors, LLC in 2011 having worked in the commercial real estate business for the past ten years. Prior to joining Prima, Nilesh worked in various capacities as a Vice President at Goldman Sachs. His most recent job at Goldman was on the commercial real estate loan trading desk trading commercial real estate whole loans, b-notes and mezzanine loans. In partnership with Goldman’s Special Situations Group, Nilesh also worked on the team that invested in non-performing commercial real estate loans. Prior to that and during the financial crisis of 2008 / 2009, Nilesh worked with Goldman’s clients on developing solutions for their legacy commercial real estate risk. When Nilesh joined Goldman in early 2006, he led a team that structured and placed commercial real estate CDOs for Goldman Sachs’ clients.

Nilesh came to Goldman Sachs from Deutsche Bank’s CMBS trading desk.  During his five years at Deutsche Bank, Nilesh structured and marketed commercial real estate CDOs, worked with the new issue CMBS team and prior to that managed a team that analyzed risk for the credit trading businesses.  In 2005 Nilesh led a team of banks for Prima’s 2005 CDO.  Prior to Deutsche Bank, where Nilesh was a Director, Nilesh worked at GE Plastics and successfully completed the Financial Management Program.

Nilesh earned a B.A. degree from St. Lawrence University in 1998 where he majored in Economics and Mathematics – Computer Science. He came to St. Lawrence from Kolkata, India in 1995 where he grew up pursuing variety of extra-curricular activities including playing cricket and the violin. Nilesh has been married since 2002 and has two children, Rohan and Mischa, with his wife, Jessica.
